there's massive short $$ out right now- more than ever in history. So any rallies can be reasonably suspected to be short covering rallies.

But after next week we should stabilize- look at the Q1 2001 warnings season carnage- it's the same pattern we're in now.

Yup, when Paul Volker had to run up interest rates to reign in runaway inflation.
People and corporations were paying 20% interest on loans.
A loan on a house was like 15-16%...it was brutal.
Jimmy Carter lost his presidency over it, but history will record if Carter/Volker had not taken such drastic action we might be paying $1000 for a packet of gum today.
