We complain if our cell phone winds up in a dead cell. We complain if our vegetables are genetically modified. We don't complain when our bedslats are used to shore up escape tunnels and we don't complain when our Klim can doubles as a heating stove after we used up all the dried milk out of it and no telling when we would get another ration. We don't complain about real evil and deprivation, because we don't have the slightest inkling, and the people with real experience don't want to talk about it. I suppose it is natural to expect us to see evil among our freedoms because we don't have the slightest idea of what real evil is.
