Yeah I saw that ....interesting stuff.

thnx

too late to go there ... but seems
we are going there now thru science.

The story of mankind going far back as you want
is one of self knowledge ...we were wired to cope
with the envirionment & make tools , but also wired for much more .

Language , speech , story-telling becomes a history,
and history trends into the past and future . The idea
of "eternity" becomes dimmly persistent . As we
record and understand more thru the generations , of
the world around us , our own internal , something
evolves that is beyond legend, woven into the
fabric of the legends . A sense of personal participation
in the universe as well as our own lives thru birth and death...
Justice , morality , Diety , special rites ,
special times...even something more.

In the end , a man must know himself by himself.
It amazes me why anyone needs to carry around
a book to tell them what is right and wrong ?
Seems after 3 1/2 million years , we could just begin
to dimmly remember these things on our own.
But for every person the path must be taken.

oh well maybe another century or 3...everyone
needs --->teachers , preferably --->live ones.

"You might be fat, thin, big, small, intelligent, stupid -- whatever you are, there is only one way, unconditionally, and that is to begin with the practice of meditation. The practice of meditation is the and only way."

The secret is to know --->the Path is the Goal:

A Basic Handbook of Buddhist Meditation

** Buddha was pretty smart fellow ...

;-)

PS : Saw a movie today , two people were getting married
and it struck me funny how many people can't remember
there marriage vows or have them commited to memory...
it's only the most important day of our lives .<g>
