(COMTEX) B: Optical's new facility Fiber optic co. acquires 142,000 s B: Optical's new facility Fiber optic co. acquires 142,000 square feet in Warner Center for $18.7 million Jun 20, 2001 (Inman News Features via COMTEX) -- Chatsworth, Calif.-based Optical Communication Products, a manufacturer of fiber optic subsystems and modules for metropolitan area network and high-speed premises networks, has acquired a 142,000-square-foot office and research and development facility in the Warner Center area of Woodland Hills, Calif. The transaction price was $l8.7 million. OCP has scheduled a year-end occupancy of the two-story building located at 6101 Variel Ave., company officials said. The executive management, administrative, sales and marketing, and research and development departments will occupy the majority of the building, while a 65,000-square-foot portion will continue being leased to two existing tenants. Optical's manufacturing operations will be expanded at its current facility in nearby Chatsworth, Calif. Jerry Scullin and Kevin Cooper of Van Nuys, Calif.-based Delphi Business Properties, along with Mark Sullivan and Jonathan Wechsler of Julien Studley Co., represented OCP. Kevin Tamura and Keith Green of Daum Commercial Real Estate Services represented Toibb Elins Properties, the seller. OCP's fiber optic subsystems and modules convert electronic signals into optical signals and back to electronic signals, enabling high-speed communication of voice and data traffic over public and private fiber optic networks. Established in l978, Delphi Business Properties concentrates on industrial real estate in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
