Should I buy to close out and make my 2 points and then go back and try and sell 8 calls at WHAT PRICE? In Aug??...etc?

Poet Trader,

It's really tough giving out such detailed advice when I'm so clearly fretting over the wisdom of my own trading decisions. It really puts one on the hot seat. It's made even more difficult because, at least for me, I only trade calls on stocks I've followed for awhile so that I have some confidence in my understanding of their behavior. With Ciena and your personal goals, I am completely clueless -- headed up? headed down? turbulent/calm? expected news soon? are you buy/write/write/write or holding with a death grip? and on and on...

I think what I've seen here these past two months is not so much a detailed discussion of everyday cases and rules but rather a consideration of The Not-Too-Dumb Principles of Covered Calls and a few post-mortum reviews. So please, do not be discouraged if no one here is Cienna-smart. But cheer up, I think we're constructing a teaching-to-fish not a giving-a-fish kind of place. (Besides, I'd worry that if I gave you a fish, it might be rotten. <g>)

Anyone else want to weigh in on this Ciena question?
