The following post is not directed to anyone alive or dead, please do not take offense by it.

NTAP'S moment of truth!

First the chart on a three year scale--->

stockcharts.com[w,a]dbolnimy[df][pb25!b50!b100!b200!a10.65!a9.5!a4!f][vc60][iUc20!Ua12,26,9!Lb14!Lf!Lg!Lj[$spx]]

As we can see from the above chart long term buy and hold method of investing used with a stock like NTAP has been the ticketed to owning incredible shrinking money machine, all the way from 152 to 11 in less then 12 months! egad! NTAP has reached the moment of truth between the ability to make a double bottom to one that causes the stock to fall right over to the possibility of visiting 7 to 4 area in quick fashion. Failure to hold the April bottom today and continued selling while the naz is making somewhat of a recovery from the most recent selling has been most damaging to current holder's psychology. What's worse as NTAP moves below the level that many of the long term holders from 1999 bought, they will begin to feel the heat big time once the 9 area is violated setting up the push to 7 to 4 area. What bothers me about all this is that NTAP was considered a premier company that would have done incredibly well with the so called new economies ability to generate reams of data even during a slow down. I find it distributing that NTAP still is unable to mount a sustaining recover after all this time given the fact that world's need for storage is still growing even while the would wide economies are slowing. Why is that happening? Are companies able to tweak out more capacity with existing equipment? Is there still ton's of used equipment from the dot.com bombs on the market? Is competition so intense that NTAP size prevents it from competing? Will the competition continue to grow while the world wide data storage needs reaches the top of the exponential growth preventing NTAP from mounting a recovery down the road? Furthermore, Right about now the guys running the show at NTAP have to begin to worry about the possibility of being taken over, this will only intensify as the stocks moves lower.

Maybe NTAP can go ahead and make the double bottom, and continue the base building process while it works off the weak hands, maybe it can't? We are about to find out rather quickly since NTAP has reached the moment of truth.
