This has a dual use. It applies to performing manual tasks upon inanimate objects AND to child rearing.

You left out yardstick, level and picture hooks. That reminds me of when I saw my wife with an adjustable wrench and a 16 penny nail. She said she was going to hang a picture. I didn't argue, just went out and bought a new wrench and some sheet rock patch.
