That supports my belief that a Quiet Period is nothing more than a cop out by management.

I'm confident that when the situation warrants, Barrett will make use of the Quiet Period banner. I am surprised, though, at how cavalier he is at ignoring the Quiet Period when it isn't to his advantage.

Hi John, RE: Barrett's interview

Just curious why you don't like it? Wouldn't you prefer more information than less information, and from the top too?

I actually prefer it this way.

I found the information to be very useful and hope to see more like this.

And I'd rather learn about it from an article on an interview with Barrett, than through a WS analyst (because they tend to tell you what they think, not what the CEO thinks). While an article on an interview with the CEO is a better indicator of what the CEO thinks.

As an investor, that has great value to me.

Regards,
Amy J

John
barret commented a bit :-(( and do not blame me for the report, I did not write it

.........................
* With regards to the capex plans of $7.5B for this year, Craig Barrett was
quoted yesterday We haven't changed guidance. We'll watch what goes on in the
next 3 to 6 months, and then if we don't see any improvement at that time,
we'll seriously look at both the installed infrastructure we have plus what
we want to spend on investment next year. This is somewhat different than
earlier statements about spending their way out of the downturn.

...................
* Intel is currently simply struggling to stay afloat during this economic
downturn, said Barrett. As will there stock price and investor confidence
in a 2H pickup, we believe.
