I think there is a big push to give the Fed every opportunity to lower rates as much as possible next week. So its important to the market manipulators to be sure that there isnt any threatening signs of inflation ahead of the FOMC meeting. I dont expect the stock market or commodities to go anywhere until after the meeting.

I think the time to buy gold and silver will be closer to the Fed meeting or just after. Bonds should sell on the news whatever the Fed does imo, and metals prices are going to have a hard time going anywhere until bonds are topped out on this counter trend rally.

CD, I don't think that any of us really knows. The POG action today wasn't really so bad. Is the recent XAU/HUI action just the typical retracement/consolidation trading? We'll find out, but as always, the question for me is how to profit from all of this. My two assumptions are that

1. long term, gold is going to the moon
2. in the meantime I haven't the foggiest idea, although it feels like a baby bull (until it doesn't)

So how do I maximize my upside potential and minimize my downside potential? ...hold some and trade some. Gold sucks, but it is pregnant with possibilities.

Anybody remember the sight of Koreans offering up their gold to help save their countries finances?
It was not so long ago.
