adjusted for splits? Is the NAZ computed on the same companies now as 5 years ago? Just curious if we're doing Apples and Apples here. Dee Jay

i started investing in lasers in 1994. i looked for anyone who was making lasers and put small amounts of money in those companies: unph, sdli, ortl, mrvc, and others which are bust now. it was a great play; my big error was to not take more profits. but that is not my point. what has happened in the recent years is that the competition has grown. look at marconi's expansion plans; look at the start-ups; what do you know about the competition in japan? sure mrvc is bigger and better today than several years ago, but the world has not stood still. things change. i don't post much because i have little hard information. very much aappreciate sector information. urge the board in general not to waste time with ephemera. good luck. s.
