What is your answer? Mine is two pronged, corporations may have better use for the cash they have, or they do not have the cash. The other answer is that possibly corporations do not think that buying their stock at these prices is wise (they do not think their stock is an "uncommon" value?). The paucity of corporate buy backs and and the paucity of consolidations indicates to me that corporate chieftains think that prices are too high.
