<HP to unveil Athlon-based notebook>

The 1 Ghz was on display at a local (Atlanta) Best Buy on Monday. Actually selling for $1999 as I recall, after instant rebate of $100. The demo was loaded with Windows ME, but the MS sticker indicated "Designed for" ME and 2000, which I think bodes well for possible business sales. Another plus was that it wasn't running warm compared to some of the Pentium IIIs.

The salesperson didn't think there were any in stock yet, although I didn't have him check to be sure.

Dear Reynoso:

In the Sunday edition of the Milwaukee Journal, Best Buy had an ad for a HP 1 GHz A4 notebook. Is this the same one? It had 256MB RAM and a 15" screen. I threw the advertisement out into the trash Monday, so I can't refer back to it to be sure.
