I think a sun roof is like what Sue's '78 Mustang had, two tinted removable panels. I was told my Jeep has a moon roof and it's in the middle over the front seats. It powers back or it will power lift the back of the window. There's also a shade that slides forward so it's like a regular roof.

I think they're the same thing........if you open it during the day, it's a sun roof....if opened at night, it's a moon roof.
