RE could stand for anything: reply, responding, regarding, or even regarding another topic. My only point was that sometimes I miss the smaller ". >>

But since nearly every post to SI is a reply to another article, rather than a "new subject," a "RE:" is redundant and takes up space in the subject line that could be devoted to a _descriptive_ subject.

Anyway, since SI seemingly lacks good quoting tools (like showing included quotes with a ">" or similar symbol), we all have to roll our own.

I have been using the "<< stuff >> " approach recently.

Also, if you're thinking you may miss articles in response to your own, check your INBOX. Should be posts following up _your_ posts in your INBOX, so you can't miss them.
