You just mentioned the one part of the ministry of Jesus that I do not accept. This Robin Hood business of kicking out money lenders.

the Christians of Rome were some of the most intolerant
people in the entire empire ...

if the truth be told ....

"Did Jesus have a better financial plan that he was keeping under wraps?"

Jesus was a spiritual leader focused on faith and morality. His life was a model of "The Way" to live among others as a person. His messages were often in parable and his examples were abstract. He expected people to give thought to things beyond the surface appearance. "For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear." Clearly, he did not consider his message appropriate for those who were hooked on a particular politic or way of life. These people were comfortable with the status quo of their favorite agenda. They would never have time to think or any reason to change what they were already doing. He pretty much left the mainstream persons alone in their comfort. He did not have comment on political or economic systems except to say that he was not concerned about it, as in; Render that which is Ceasar's unto Ceasar. He avoided the authorities and when they showed up at one of his events he expressed annoyance and dismissed them wittily. The whipping and table flipping incident was a mock example, in that he didn't have a real whip and no actual violence was involved. It was not criticising the economic or political system of the time, it was a protest against the hypocrisy of the circumstances. Satan has use of the attractions of the world to destroy his enemy (man). The materialism of the world is the most attractive and distracting aspect of our ongoing struggle to exist and live a decent life. You go to a place designed to pray and meditate on the existence of eternity, the power and authority of creation, the perfection of justice and goodness that is infinite, after life etc. This type of house of worship should be protected from the activities and distractions of the profit takers. This display was for his followers to remind them that materialism has no place in worship. The fact that the religious authorities and the government were embarrassed by it was unavoidable.
