Wow, I rent all of the time, and I would tell them to get stuffed if they explained the policy to me. And if they didn't mention it I would scream because I'm usually too tired to read fine print after a long flight.

I'd really be in trouble if the GPS system tracked altitude.

BTW, don't ever buy a rental.

I've been reading a lot of articles about the future of wireless technology, and how some people think cars will someday be fully equipped to transmit traffic flow information (i.e. speed and position) to a central site for traffic management/alert purposes.

I think not. I don't always agree with some of the causes the ACLU takes up, but this would be one where their value would be immeasurable. As a matter of fact, I suspect Acme has already heard from them.
