Dear Techie: A4 and all current Tbirds are spec'd at 95C Max Die Temp. That is measured at the front of the die. Mani and many others in a previous discussion on the benefits of ISO-28 showed that a range of a few C occur between the front and back of the die and that the higher conductivity helps more to lower hot spots on the die than overall die temp (Apparently will help P4 far more given the previous discussions on it). Thus given your range of 5-6C, Athlon has max T_case of 89-90C, about 20C higher. Pete
