"Oh wait" said Bugs as he returned the full-sized Lathe to his pouch. "this is no time to be setting up wood shop, besides," he continued still talking but not to anybody in particular, "there's no suitable lumber for cabinetmaking here anyhow." Suddenly, Bugs, Rusty, and Rear were deafened by what may possibly have been the loudest noise any of them had ever heard (and for Rear, it was tough to beat the shelling he endured in his foxhole in WWII), coming from the hole in the wall where everyone else had gone. Looking at the other two briefly, Bugs shrugged as though to say "I dunno," and motioned for them to follow him into the gaping blackness...
