Integrated Device Technologies Integrates i2 SCM Solutions and SAP R/3 System Using i2's Rapid Optimized Integration Template

biz.yahoo.com

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2001--i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO - news), the leading provider of dynamic value chain and marketplace solutions, today announced that Integrated Device Technologies (IDT) (Nasdaq:IDTI - news), a leading communications IC provider, has fully integrated its entire i2 Supply Chain Management(TM) (SCM) solution with its SAP R/3 system and mySAP applications using i2 TradeMatrix Rapid Optimized Integration(TM) (ROI) for R/3.

IDT has benefited from the entire i2 SCM solution, which includes i2 TradeMatrix Demand Planner(TM), Factory Planner(TM), Supply Chain Planner(TM) and Demand Fulfillment(TM) solutions for the last two years. IDT also elected to implement i2 ROI for R/3 to provide synchronous real-time connectivity between i2 SCM solutions and its SAP R/3 system. With these solutions integrated, IDT can now automate its supply chain planning and global order management processes to improve customer service and reduce inventories.

``The integration of i2 with SAP R/3 was relatively easy, allowing us to benefit from the combined process environment,'' said Dave Neu, vice president, IDT. ``The current level of integration of i2's solutions provides us the ability to upgrade and maintain the systems as we continue to provide our customers with real-time information on our products.''

With these connected systems, IDT can accurately give real-time available-to-promise quoting and order scheduling, which takes into account a company's rules for customer-product allocations and complex down binning rules that are required within the semiconductor industry. Additionally, the planning capabilities of i2 SCM has enabled companies like IDT to streamline planning activities across multiple factories and distribution centers in order to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize inventories.

``IDT is delivering on the customer promise,'' said Hiten Varia, i2 chief delivery officer. ``By integrating order promising with best-of-breed supply chain planning, IDT will be able to satisfy customer demand more quickly and profitably. This is key in the semiconductor industry since the manufacturing process is extremely complex.''
