Interesting that wealth has fallen to that degree.I'm smack dab in the good old conservative midwest and I doubt this area has experienced that sort of decline. My net worth is up considerably and not due to the market entirely. My neighbors are still trying to out do one another.Who doesn't have an in ground pool?30 miles away Motorola laid off better than 50%,Chrysler 10 miles away 30%,Newell 35 miles away 0%,GM 35 miles north 0% so far.Alot of small job shops around here hurting.Yet unemployment is only up 1%;go figure. The local areospace firm Hamilton Sundstrand is so far leting everyone work all the OT they want including Saturday and Sunday. How long will that last.Fedex has a hiring freeze as does DHL.The local UPS hub can't keep people course that's all PT at 8.50/hr.Airborne laid some off. It's hard to make sense of it locally.I'm curious how things are elsewhere?Anyone?
