ECONOMY TALK: The Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index rose to -3.7 in June from -8.8 in May, above expectations for a decline to -10. The new orders index declined to -9.3 from -4.8 while the shipments index fell to -0.8 from 3.7. Also, the employment index fell to -14.3 from -11.1, the eighth month in a row the index has remained in negative territory. However, the index reflecting expectations about future general activity surged to 58.2 from 33.1 as 63% of the firms surveyed expect increases in overall business over the next six months
