Ron, I understand you in principle. But these CBM plays can lead to long, sustained appreciation. Take a look at the long-term price chart for Evergreen Resources (EVG on the NYSE). I like to put some money in the early stuff that you deal with, but I also like to put a significant part of my portfolio in companies with a slightly later development stage, and with a slightly lower risk profile. For example, I've been buying more Canadian Imperial (CQV) now that I see they recompleted that 1st well successfully and appear to have been able to line up a big financing. As you say, its best to stay with what you are most comfortable and have had success with in the past.
