**OT**

If you are running McAfee VirusScan 4 or higher, there is an internet filter which can block out annoying doubleclick ads and other banners and annoying promotions. Double click on the Shield and Go into "Internet Filter" then "Properties" and then click on the "Configure" button next to "Internet URL's to Block" From here click on Add and type in ad.doubleclick.net or whatever URL pops up in a new window.

No more annoying ads, although it will box you in when surfing and you may have to go back several pages at once just to get out. I never wish anyone harm, but personally, I hope Doubleclick goes out of business.

mchjc, OT *** blocking popups
I use a tiny free program called naviscope not only to block popups, but also to preopen SI posts and more. I see no downside to it.
