re: A point or two of market share is great for bragging rights, but doesn't mean s--t in a declining market.
In the end both stocks will begin to move up when there is a hint that end user demand is starting to increase. That will be a good day for holders of both AMD and Intel.
When do you think that will happen?

I think AMD play classic scenario of picking up market share during the slow period.
Given the current asps I am not sure that some pick up in demand would do it. Amd needs market share in portable and commercial and intel needs to intro new products.
I make no prediction on how long this environment would last but it will end sooner or later
