My friend, this is terrible news. The enterprise segment is likely to disappoint in Q4 for almost every software company. That possibility with Symantec has worried me since the merger with Axent closed at the end of last year. Now we have no cushion. We are not out of the woods yet and may just be getting into trouble.

Hard to believe THAT much of a miss is solely due to the consumer portion of their sales.

I was surprised Symc made their numbers when msft warned last year since they sell into alot of the same market.

Maybe msft is immune (or diversified enough) to squeak by this quarter. I wouldn't bet on it though.
