After Republicans swept into office because of the attempted government take-over of our health care system by Clinton and his radical leftist wife. A budget battle ensured.

During that process, Clinton repeatedly stated in late 94 that we couldn't balance the budget in 10 years, without inflicting heavy damage on the population. His spokespersons and Demolib pals claimed Republicans were trying to "starved children, and starve the elderly by balancing the budget".

If you seriously believe he was actually trying to balancing the budget during this time frame, you're delusional.

He and his left wing buddies never had any intention of balancing the budget within a decade. In fact, they said it couldn't be done. Further, they threatened to shut down the government each and every time the Republicans attempted to hold down spending and balance the budget.

Why would they have made so many ludicrous claims of gloom and doom regarding the Republicans desire to balance the budget, if they actually wanted to do it themselves? And why did they fight so strongly against a constitutional amendment to balance the budget, if they really wanted to accomplish the goal themselves?

Your memory is faulty, your facts are wrong, and your assumptions regarding the motivation behind the players is bogus.

It's really as simple as that.
