my basic opinion on LU is that they are fighting for their life. Ultimately, I see them selling off everything that is valuable that could be an opportunity for growth for them.

My views on fiber have not changed. There is going to be a fiber buildout to the home over the next 10-15 years that will reinvigorate the industry. Right now, we are seeing some governments treating this as a national infrastructure interest and offering subsidies (Japan, Sweden, Canada). I believe that this will cause a domino like effect where other countries don't want to be left behind. There was another post on either the last mile thread or Frank Coluccio's thread that pointed out that there is a an overcapacity in the core right now (this is based on fiber in the ground, not on transmission equipment BTW), but this will change once there is true broadband to the home. We will quickly get to a point where we do not have sufficient capacity in the core, which will cause another wave of core growth.
