Craig, If you want to avoid a state sales tax, shop in Oregon or on the Net.

Did you know California is now the 5th largest economy in the world?
If you ever need a cheap place to stay in West Hollywood please let me know.
>California's growth spurt last year pushed it to new economic heights, now ranked as the fifth-largest economy in the world if it were a country. Due to the weak euro, European countries saw their gross domestic product shrink after being converted to dollars for comparison. As a result, both the U.K. and California surpassed France to take the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, in total output.

The Los Angles area alone surpassed Spain to become the 10th-largest economy, now just slightly smaller than Brazil. California's GDP is estimated to have grown by a stunning 13.6 percent last year, according to the Los Angeles Economic Development Council.

Craig,

I am not pleased to pay more taxes but the system as it is currently is a mess. We will see taxes on internet sales and it will not take another three years. There is a lot of political pressure and a great deal is coming from large corporate retailers. They want a "fair" playing field.
