It sure does, and they ARE High art forms.

Nokia is still smarting from a Qualcomm white paper released in February, in which the CDMA developer compared cdma2000 1xEV-DO with WCDMA. Qualcomm claimed it would cost US$4 in network expenses to send 200MB over a 1xEV-Do network, compared with US$14 for WCDMA. "That was totally inaccurate," said Barrett. He said it was unfair to compare a data overlay - 1xEV-DO, with a voice and data network - to WCDMA. For this reason, Nokia has little sympathy for any injuries sustained by the CDMA corner.

I can now see a kangaroo court convened within CDG with Nokia calling Ericsson & Motorola as expert witnesees to discuss claims made by Qualcomm in the whitepaper called "The Economics of Wireless Mobile Data".

During the "trial" Nokia might introduce some of the webcasts made by Qualcomm executives prior to publication of the whitepaper and discuss the relative spectral efficiency claims of cdma2000 v. WCDMA, which curiously (or not so curiously) never made it into the whitepaper, to back up their case, after dealing with the cost per megabyte issue Qualcomm's whitepaper focused on..

Maybe the court has already convened.

To CDG's credit, "The Economics of Wireless Mobile Data". puff piece is not (so far as I can tell) available on the CDG site.

So here we have it ... puff piece v. puff piece.

I will say this. I give Qualcomm credit, in publishing the whitepaper, for toning down some of the claims that they made in webcast presentations at conferences sponsored by financial houses, and eliminating some of the outright inaccuracies stated by Qualcomm executives in these presentations.

Some time ago you said: I am not sure that Q's top brass have lately read the business classic "How to Win Friends and Influence People.".

I think that someone furnished Rich Sulpizio a copy. <g>
