was MU halted?

I don't believe so but unless you have access to something like Instinet; how are you going to trade NYSE stock after 4 P.M.

When JJ made his call DRAM was selling for 50% more. He's probably taken a new avocation at SSB for the majority of time in last two months like bowling in the hallways since my broker at SSB says things are very very slow on the retail side there.

He was probably expecting a quick snapback in CPU demand for back to school. I don't think we are going to get it this fall. I still think that job layoffs, liquidation/bankruptcy sales and spending freeze in IT doesn't lead to recovery in tech sales until mid 2002.

Then there's always this view of the book to bill (in short, last month might not have been the bottom). Note: this article was written before today's b2b release.

But CSFB cautions against betting on the bottom now. "One month does not a trend make," the firm says today. "Even if May shows a slight uptick, keep in mind that historically bookings do not always go straight down to a trough. In April/May 1998, bookings increased 6% sequentially after four straight down months, but was followed by an additional five months of double digit sequential declines."

The firm sees the third quarter as more likely being the bottom.
