Perhaps retirement funds and private funds are buying the sold off stocks. Makes sense. The mutual funds may believe the stocks are a value but do not to hold them to have public second guess their purchases so they sell losers. Hence, the retirement funds , 401k programs, private funds pick them up at bargain prices as they may not have any public review on a quarterly report.... Then I would expect some mutual funds buy back the sold stocks soon after the quarter ends. Of course this is speculation ... john
