Is it the fact that Bill was Monica's boss (not even directly but many levels higher) the problem in your mind or is it the fact he was much older?

Absolutely NOT. Monica's age is not central to the argument, other than to establish within some reasonable margins what her level of maturity was.

The issue is ABUSE OF POWER. You have a young (could be 18, could be 24) girl, infatuated with a man who is the most powerful man in the free world. If the president of the United States says, "You give me a BJ, now", then a young, inexperienced girl can easily be confused about the order. Now, we can say, "It never happened that way". And it probably didn't.

But as President, there is an ethical and moral obligation to adhere to a higher standard. This is not difficult to understand.

The other issue is the lying. While liberals will suggest that "lying about sex" is okay, even under oath, it simply isn't true. We simply can't allow the targets of questions under oath to decide when lying is and is not acceptable. If the Court determined that the question was admissable, there cannot be a "justification" for lying in response to it. This is a fundamental construct in the criminal justice system and the President violated it.

This, of course, sets forth an entire pattern of behavior in which the President (1) abuses power, (2) lies to cover it up, and (3) and wins in the media by whatever political means are necessary. Clinton's abuses were far worse than Nixon's. But Clinton was successful in manipulating the media and the liberal constiuency. The problem is, the damage is long-term.
