OCPI, the one I mentioned, has popped 15% today. My own personal JDSU. ;-)

Dennis, I had 700 amat short and 600 amat long.

Covered 500 amat short shares this morning around $47, missed the re-short earlier above 49.5+. Just reshorted 500 shares at 48.95. So back to this morning's position again. I am free all this afternoon, so I will try to trade again.

Oh well. One can take satisfaction in a good pick, though.

Now as for the market, my top-secret proprietary Complacency Index for the Dow is at 85.9 right now, intraday, based on daily charts. With the Naz, it's at 94.3. The scale runs from 1 to 100, and a high degree of complacency often indicates a downturn ahead. The indicator is based on market volatility. High volatility means panic selling, low volatility means complacency.

I guess the market has been relatively complacent cuz its sugar daddy is expected to lavish more rate cuts on it. I wonder whether the market will move up as expected. I rilly have no idea whether it will. All I'm saying is that there's a lot of complacency, while earnings warnings continue to pour in and the outlook remains dismal.

Featured stocks on Mr. Haney's truck today: MU, AMAT, QLGC, etc.

TLAB got a nice pop today. ADX got to 43 before it turned. One oversold stock, but MACD and PPO haven't even begun to turn yet. Straight down on that one.
