Haven't thought about this for years, but another trick electricity stealers who were growers used years ago was to hire a dishonest electrician to wire their meter to run backwards for 10 or so days each month. This was done not so much to save money, but to make the bill look normal.

I believe gold will only come back when investment demand picks up. All this other stuff is just noise and nonsense.
