Dear dear col, >>>>>Who said government regulations are bad

To me you have just proven the above statement is true. The regulations provided no protection for all the folks that died.
Do you think thatCorp tried to cause the death or sell tainted meat with intent. A process error occurred and bad stuff happened. One dumb human, one moment of not paying attention or several mistakes and very bad stuff happened. The cause of the bad stuff was traced back to Sara Lee .

>>>>>and corporate america can police itself. Absolutely true. The cost of recall and lost sales put one big dent in the profits. I's say the 200k is a drop in the bucket and was grand standing. The 3 million for food safety is PR and no doubt Sara Lee paid or will pay additional millions in damages for those injured.

I suggest you don't really see the logic of the situation.

<<Who said government regulations are bad and corporate america can police itself............>>

I notice you don't capitalize America.

Sara Lee accidently killed 15 people. 80 million gun owners kill 1,500 people each year. 700,000 doctors kill 120,000 Americans each year. Doctors seem to be the thing that needs regulating.

You like this new dem/McCain package that makes it easier to sue doctors and HMOs?

It just hit me, doctors kill more people in the US each year than guns and cars combined.
