I think that is the key thing...a lack of promising oil plays in the drilling portfolios of the E&Ps. With oil prices this high for this length of time, you have to believe they would be going after good oil prospects full bore if they had any. Domestic oil production peaked thirty years ago...domestic NG production is not supposed to peak for another twenty. The economics may dictate that going after solid gas prospects at $3.75 is preferable to marginal oil prospects at $27.
