Everytime we get in one of these selloffs I study all the fundamentals and try and get a feel of where we are in this cycle. EIA's Table 3 is somewhat comforting looking at June 2001 vs 2000.

Perhaps Diana G is correct that OPEC intentionally tanked the non OPEC efforts in 1997/98. I suspect they learned that that path led to MAD.

I would be more comfortable if I saw some shifting of activity to oil.

It sure seems like an orchestrated even with CNBC to sppok veryone out of energy. These guys have been banging the patch for days because gasoline prices are falling.
