JFS, You're the one spreading manure around here. The cigarette companies didn't tell anyone anything in the beginning because even they did not know the dangers of tar, and nicotine. If they were giving them away to kids, where the hell were the parents of those kids?? They were sitting on their collective asses expecting the government to do their parenting for them. They took no responsibility at all but, are you putting any blame on the parents? NO!! Demo/libs do not begin to know the meaning of responsibility. When "big brother" gets here and starts telling you how to think, what you can and cannot do, and taxes your ass off to pay for the privilege, don't come crying to me. Nader is, and always was, a kook looking for his 15 minutes of fame. Any adult with a lick of sense knows what is, and what is not, dangerous about cars. Again, you are shirking individual responsibility and trying to blame others for the problems that you, and others like you, have caused for yourselves. I don't care what you think laws have done to make swimming pools safer. More kids than ever are drowning because their parents don't give a damn what their kids are doing, and continue to drink their booze, and shoot their dope, while the kids have free rein to jump in a pool and drown. Government has been trying to protect people from themselves ever since FDR promoted "cradle to the grave" security, and it has been a dismal failure. I'll bet if you went up to the biggest bully on the playground, spit in his face, and got your ass whipped, you would go crying to the principal, or start screaming for your mama. People like you are freeloaders that want everything done for them so they can sit back in their easy chairs and let the world go by without lifting a finger. You are about as worthless as dog shit. I don't want to be protected from myself. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! And answer this......a man brandishing a knife stabbed two dozen children in a Japanese elementary school, killing 8 and leaving 13 kids in serious condition. Japan and the UK have the world's most restrictive gun control laws on their books, yet both nations have recorded two of the world's worst school massacres in history. So explain.... how did this happen and why will such laws make a difference???? JLA
