TE, Every product you mentioned is a thing. A thing that cannot do anything until some one decides to make use of it. Then that product can either be used, or abused. That decision rests with the individual that buys that product. Therefore, if anyone gets shot with a gun, it is the fault of the person that pulled the trigger, not the manufacturer of the gun. If any individual wants to have a trigger lock on his gun, he should go out and buy one. They are easily available but should not be forced on those that neither need, nor want one.

If the manufacture of any product intentionally produces a product is bound to cause an accident, injury, or death, and does so with the intent of not informing the purchasing community of the inherent danger, then they should be prosecuted under the laws that are already on the books. Any individual that uses a product that causes injury, or death, knowing that the danger, however remote, exists, then that individual should be prosecuted to the limit of the law. In most cases, it is not the product that causes harm but the person that uses that product to cause harm. No manufacturer should be held liable for such use, nor should they be forced to increase the cost of their product in order to add, or delete, features that make the product dangerous if used by a careless person.

In the end result, it is the person that uses any product that is responsible for anything that happens as a result of its use. Demo/libs have become famous for shirking individual responsibility. They want a village to raise their children for them. They want the schools to be responsible for the discipline of their children. They want some government agency to inspect a vehicle for them before they buy it. It all boils down to one basic truth. Those that want the government to protect them from themselves are lazy, incompetent, whiners who are parasites feeding off the tax monies provided by those that do take responsibility and make something of themselves.

That system was described quite well in "The Communist Manifesto". Read it sometime. It appears it was Clinton's bible.
