But even though, they did not share ther thousands of pages of data--it was not the forum. They did make the comment pointing out a correspondence between the developing countries and illegality, and I accept that as part of the evidence, and I trusty that they mentioned it because they considered it important. I accepting that abortion is more likely to be illegal in developing countries then developed countries. But that is not enough to make "developing" countries" a good proxy for "countries where abortion is illegal". For it to be a good proxy you would at least have to have a situation where the vast majority of both women and abortions in the devloping world where in countries that outlawed abortion. Considering the fact that when China is exluded, India, a country with legal abortion is legal, by itself has atleast 30% of the population of the developing world this seems unlikely. The fact that the highest abortion rates in the world are in developing countries with legal abortion it seems even less likely. Considering all of this it seems likely that at most half of the people in the developing world live in countries where abortion is illegal. If you provide a list of countries that your source considers "developing", I am willing to do the research to figure out which ones have legal abortion and what percentage of the people in developing countries this represents, if you feel it important to have this data. If you don't trust me to be honest in this research you could always do it yourself. Tim
