RE: "All that is required to balance the budget is leadership from the White House, such as we saw for the last eight years."

I feel like barfing up after reading the above.

res- There are times when deficit spending is necessary and appropriate.

There were provisions designed into the Republican offered balanced budget amendment (which failed in the Senate by one vote), that allowed for deficit spending in times of emergent need. It simply required a 2/3rd vote from both houses of congress. So, please tell me, when is it appropriate to deficit spend without this supermajority?

On the one hand you say your biggest concern is deficit spending, and on the other hand you don't support a balanced budget amendment. This contradiction tells me you really don't care about deficit spending. If you were serious, you would be leading the charge for a balanced budget amendment.

I care about deficit spending enough to support a balanced budget amemdment. So did a majority of Republicans. Democrats like Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy and Tom Dashle did not.

Anyone who is truly informed can understand who is serious about balancing the budget, and who is not.

When you come onboard this simple, clear and decisively needed legislation, I will take your claims of caring about the deficit seriously. Until you do, I'll continue to believe it's simply political mudslinger on your part.

Are you in support of the democraps platform on education where they continue to push for more money to be spent and discourage competition?
