Hank, I do not care about GUMM. I wish you success in whatever stocks you wish to deal with. GUMM is only connected to REFR in that Bill Wexler called both of them a fraud. I doubt they have much else in common, but I have not studied GUMM, nor do I care to.

As I have said, I do not hate shorts in general, but will resist those who choose to be on the opposite side of a stock that I retain belief in after evaluating the facts. As is abundantly clear, I am more convinced than ever that on REFR, Asensio is the fraud.

You may note that Wexler has wisely gotten out of this discussion. Asensio has turned silent. Nobody on this forum seems to admit being short REFR. I assume Wexler is not in REFR at this time and merely wanted to revisit it for old times sake.

I have no doubt there are plenty of biotech frauds but I want to ask you a serious question since I am curious about many things. I happen to be educated on biotech in terms of science but have not paid much attention to the companies involved. I have been considering in selectively investing in that arena, but picking the winners is not trivial.

So I wonder what happens to many biotech companies who started up long ago using old science and did not adjust as new techniques came along. Fantastic things can be done very quickly now, such as finding what genes (and the proteins they code for) are involved in illnesses. What if another company jumps ahead of them and finds something even better than what they are working on.

Let me say that another way. Forget frauds. What about biotech companies making progress on legitimate products to solve real problems who just take too long and competition gets ahead of them. Is there lots of that going around?

With REFR, there are interesting techniques used to keep their licensees from competing with them that make it unlikely they will challenge patents or try to invent competing technologies. Biotech, overall, does not have many such protections.

I am glad I amuse you but I write very carefully. It does not matter to me what you are amused by or believe. I do not include lies. I clearly said I would not collude with others. If I was certain I could squeeze Asensio with 100K shares, I would do it myself in a minute. OK, maybe a day or two, LOL! But, unlike some, I do not take my opposition lightly and I have no reason to take any risks. I repeat, the short position is immaterial for long term holders. They can short more, hold pat, or cover. Who cares?

What they can not do is spread lies or fear or cheat. I believe they are doing all the above. So, I retaliate any way I choose. And, if I happen to see a squeeze attempt being started, I might jump in, as long as I know I had no knowledge of it and could withstand scrutiny.
