The right to speak freely was far more controversial when the constitution was new than the taken-for-granted right to bear arms. They thought they knew what sedition was in the 1790's. If they could only see the American left of the last 30 years, that amendment might have come in for some second thoughts.

Slamming the Bill of Rights because you think "times have changed" has ALWAYS, however, been a slippery slope to tyranny...

I might also suggest that, if the 2nd Amendment survived the Whiskey Rebellion and John Brown with barely a peep, no one has much of an angle against it today...

So you are the self-appointed voice of reason. Careful scrutiny of prescriptions and patient care would have saved many more people than the mere unavailability of guns. No blame to you personally but someone had to graduate at the bottom of the class or be the least responsible even in a sub-class of people know as medical doctors.

<<<The right to bear arms was reasonable back in the militia days of the new republic>>>> IS REASONABLE NOW, AND ALWAYS WILL BE REASONABLE IN A FREE COUNTRY.

<<<When was the last time anyone in your neighborhood defended their family against home intruders?.......>>>

ANSWER: LAST YEAR, LAST MONTH, LAST WEEK, YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW, NEXT WEEK, NEXT MONTH, NEXT YEAR, AND SO ON. Criminals see an NRA sticker on the front door and they just go away.
