People don't like this either, siding with industry against consumers all the time. Notice whose camp McCain is in now. Maybe the most powerful man in DC now. Also notice another Texan leading the GOP corporate defence. It's ilke Texas versus America now. LOL

"Republicans led by Sen. Phil Gramm (news - bio - voting record) of Texas have proposed a more far-reaching amendment that would exempt employers from lawsuits.

The bill, proposed by Democratic Sens. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts and John Edwards of North Carolina and Republican Sen. John McCain (news - bio - voting record) of Arizona, would ensure that some 190 million Americans with group and individual health insurance coverage have access to emergency and specialized medical care.

Bush has threatened to veto the bill, arguing it would increase health care costs by permitting jury awards of up to $5 million in federal court and unlimited punitive damages under state law."

So clear where their loyalties lie. So clear. And if your mother were killed by some stupid hospital wouldn't you want the right to sue? Of course Bush cronies have so much money they don't need to sue. They own the HMO's.
