Yes, America is afraid when an investment mag talks about survival:

Forbes 'How To' on Terrorist Knifing Attacks
John Edwards
Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001
How America has changed since Sept. 11.
Remember when Forbes magazine was just a "capitalist tool"?

The business magazine of choice for zillionaires, the mag offered stories on major corporate executives, investment strategies, and ads for the same demograhpic – charter jets and ranchland in Colorado.

But the Oct. 15 edition of Forbes out this week offers something none of its readers would ever have conceived possible: a two-page spread on self-defense for the traveling exec who may need to take down a knife- wielding terrorist.

"What If It's You?" the Forbes headline screams.

The subhead implores its readers not to be passive during a hijacking. "In a hijacking, or any situation that brings you face to face with a terrorist, don't just sit there. ..."

The Forbes article reveals the growing interest in martial arts since the terrorist attacks, and features Jerry Peterson, a martial arts expert who teaches ordinary folks his SCAR program. SCAR stands for Special Combat Aggressive Reactionary system.

Peterson says SCAR is not about traditional self-defense.
