Bottom line is, the specifications indicate the Intel has hit something of a wall at the .13 generation. Which is something that all the other CPU manufacturers say happened to them, too.

The generally accepted solution has been to go to either SOI or very low-K, neither of which Intel has coming until their next generation 1 1/2 to 2 years from now. AMD has a solution coming on line in 6 months - and they accepted enormous risks to bring that solution on-line. Which leads me to believe that SOI is important and necessary.

Blow Hard Dan isn't a process guy either - and it never stopped him from spouting off about the vastly superior AMD SOI process and the INFERIOR Intel processes.
