I know you are trying to simplify the issue....But the reality of it is just like in Balkans, several large groups of people lay claim on the land, but do not recognise a prevailing rule of the majority..The compounding problem here in US is the very same problem that is so acutely manifest today, in say Macedonia is quite dormant here....Just like inactive vulcano...We have argued that before on Kosovo, IMHO the only common denominator among groups of people here in US that are collectively labeled Americans is prosperity, not constitution, which could be set aside rather quickly ....
