"So, in a world full of bugs, how do you isolate where a bug resides?" you ask another good question. and i believe that the answer lies within one's troubleshooting methodology and skills, don't you agree? definitely a sequential process is called for, and i suppose that one must at least partially enjoy the whole endeavor, otherwise such things as anger, frustration, anxiety and the like begin to creep in and sort of impede any progress. :) mark
