On another topic, sort of, is GX which has investment in NextWave much like Qualcomm. Presumably their investment gives GX an "in" for carrying the "wireless" data for NextWave's network when long haul is needed. Who does this for CDMA carriers at present (presumably it does not go across the country from base station to base station).

Taking it one step further, Asia Crossing, a JV of GX with MSFT and Softbank with sub-sea pipes moves to the NYSE this week. How vital is this entity to the Asian Ring of Fire that Unicom (of all people) is incinerating to connect China, Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, US etc?

Many of us have found GX and Qualcomm through George Gilder's earlier works and were able to seperate his wheat from his chaff (at least in 1999 through Spring 2000, anyway).

Appreciate any insight from thread participants on how GX long haul network and wireless carriers can, do and will co-exist.
