That's because they're basically only in desktops, which are suffering. AMD has to get into the notebook and or SMB server market or see their sales plummet. Lower ASPs X fewer units = smaller top line, wouldn't you say? Tualatin helps keeps the big blue thumb on AMD in those other markets. Not pretty for AMD. Intel, in the meanwhile, gets rising ASPs with Tualatin. Check this out: On Pricewatch, a 1 GHz PIII is listed at more than a 1.4GHz Athlon. A 1.7 GHz P4 is almost 2X as much as a 1.4GHz Athlon. The problem people have with Paul as you should be well aware of is not that Paul is an Intel supporter or an AMD skeptic... its the manner in which he does it... So enough with the 1984 references... if people want to put him on ignore, thats their right.. the alternative of course is he upsets enough people with his insults and trash talking and such that he gets put up for suspension.. which would be permanent... With the thread ignoring him.. he has far less chance of enough people getting upset by his attitude.
